Multiple cases of high-end bicycle theft have been reported in various districts of Taipei City recently, with a 40-year-old man named Zhou, who worked at construction sites, caught stealing bikes estimated at over 800,000 NTD. The Taipei City Criminal Police Team apprehended Zhou for stealing pricey bicycles while working at different places, reselling them online for prices ranging from 3,000 NTD to 30,000 NTD. Upon investigation, Zhou was found involved in 29 bike theft cases and has been remanded on aggravated theft charges by the Taipei District Court. Police advise the public to purchase bikes from reputable sources, register for warranties, and use extra locks to prevent theft, urging against buying from suspicious sources to prevent the circulation of stolen goods.
