Taipei Man Harasses Police for Two Days, Acquitted on Insult Charges

Reported 8 months ago

A man surnamed Chen in Taipei went to a police station in Neihu on October 12 and 13 without reason to harass officers. After being warned by the deputy station chief to leave, Chen verbally insulted the deputy chief twice before being arrested. Chen was then acquitted of the charges, with the court's judgment explaining that he had no intention of insulting the officers and was emotionally provoked by the police's actions. Surveillance footage confirmed Chen only cursed once and did not exhibit behavior severe enough to disrupt police duty, leading to his acquittal.
