A 43-year-old man surnamed Xiao stole a motorcycle helmet left on the roadside, then offered it to his female colleague, surnamed Liu, to wear as they rode home. The owner of the helmet, a hairstylist from a Japanese hair salon in Taipei's Zhongzheng District, reported the theft of the expensive helmet and both Xiao and Liu were prosecuted for theft. Xiao admitted to taking the helmet, and Liu was also held accountable for accepting the stolen property. The incident occurred due to a lack of helmets for the passenger, leading to legal consequences for both individuals.
