Taipei Mayor Accuses Lai Ching-te of Suggesting Parliament May Sell Commercial Secrets; Zheng Li-wen Asks How Can Taiwan Semiconductor Sell American Secrets?

Reported 11 months ago

President Lai Ching-te officially announced on June 24 his plan to interpret the constitution against parliamentary reform, citing ridiculous arguments such as lawmakers using their investigative powers to summon companies like Taiwan Semiconductor to leak commercial secrets, which was criticized by former legislator Zheng Li-wen. Zheng questioned how Lai Ching-te, who accused Taiwan Semiconductor of possible confidentiality breach in Parliament, would dare to claim this while the company faced demands from the US government to disclose all commercial secrets when establishing its factory in Arizona. She further criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for not supporting the company then and questioned Lai's integrity for advocating against the Parliament and possibly aiding the US in moving Taiwan Semiconductor and its suppliers to America, referring to him as a lackey in Washington's strategy. Zheng also supported involving Taiwan Semiconductor in legislative matters if necessary.
