Taipei Mayor, Jiong Wan-an, announced that in addition to free adult health checkups, the city will provide subsidies for 6 additional tests, including urea nitrogen, uric acid, glycosylated hemoglobin, complete blood cell count, thyroid-stimulating hormone, and CA-199 tumor markers, valued at around 1000 yuan each, with about 5,000 slots available. Residents aged 40-64 can benefit from these enhanced services from July 1 to October 31, focusing on early detection of chronic diseases, particularly cancer, as part of the city's health policy. The initiative aims to promote regular health screenings and raise awareness of common health risks among the public.
