Reported 7 months ago

During a meeting with a delegation from Shanghai, Taipei Mayor Jiang Wan-an clarified that the Taipei City Government will invite representatives from Shanghai according to regulations and traditions for the upcoming Taipei-Shanghai Forum in July and August. Despite speculations on whether Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng will attend, Taiwanese authorities noted that the Shanghai Mayor is considered the city's 'second-in-command' and does not hold a high-level position. Mayor Jiang Wan-an stressed that the Forum will abide by the principles of 'equity, dignity, goodwill, and mutual benefit' for continued official dialogue and exchange between the two cities, aiming to promote cooperation and development based on shared policy issues and experiences.
