Taipei Mayor Jiang Wen'an attended the Taipei International Dragon Boat Championship on June 8th, where teams from China also participated. Jiang emphasized the importance of conducting cross-strait exchanges based on principles of equality, dignity, goodwill, and mutual benefit. Teams from various countries like Australia, the Netherlands, and Japan were welcomed this year, with a total of 212 teams participating. Jiang expressed hopes for a successful competition with good weather and a record-high total prize pool of 3.33 million. The event aimed to promote cultural exchange through sports, particularly focusing on synchronized rowing movements and following drumbeats to achieve better results.
