The investigation report on last year's crane collision incident on the Taipei Metro was released on June 20, 2024, uncovering that the safety design's 5-point system failed, with a manual driver override capable of halting the train in 15 to 16 seconds, while the collision occurred within 12 seconds. The report highlighted lapses in contractor procedures, lack of emergency protocols, and insufficient training for staff in emergency situations, leading to the tragic incident.
