Exclusive report: On July 2, 2024, at 2:39 am, Taipei Metro Company and Japan's Izu Hakone Railway Co., Ltd. signed a Chinese version friendship agreement at Taipei Metro Beitou Depot, exchanging commemorative uniforms. The two enterprises jointly operate Xinbeitou Station and Shuzenji Station, which were also declared sister stations to promote tourism together. To celebrate the agreement, a 'Izu Hakone Railway Scenic Beauty' photo area will be set up at Xinbeitou Station until September 30 for visitors. The signing ceremony was attended by Taipei Metro Company's Deputy General Manager Chan Wentao and Izu Hakone Railway Co., Ltd. President Gotang Fukuyasu, with representatives from Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Yokohama witnessing the event. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in tourism and cultural industry development between Taipei Metro and Izu Hakone Railway.
