Exclusive report on June 18, 2024, at 4:50 am (Photo/Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation): Taipei Metro now announces the arrival stations in Japanese and Korean along the entire line! Taipei Metro completed the train broadcasts in Japanese and Korean at all 117 stations on June 17. Japanese and Korean passengers can now hear station names broadcasts in their languages when the train is approaching; by the end of September this year, all stations will also have Japanese and Korean signs. This aims to enhance the quality of tourism services in the Greater Taipei area for international tourists. To cater to the increasing number of Japanese and Korean tourists, Taipei Metro has been adding Japanese and Korean train arrival broadcasts since June in areas popular among these tourists, major transfer stations, and terminals. The newly added train arrival announcements include English, Japanese, and Korean languages besides Mandarin and Hokkien. The speakers above the train doors display station names and station codes alternately in Chinese and English. Professional voice recording units selected by Taipei Metro and expert scholars have been involved to ensure the high quality of the new Japanese and Korean train broadcasts. Taipei Metro has also been adding Japanese and Korean translations of station names on signs like platform columns, overhead beams, and platform maps since August. This translation work is expected to be completed by the end of September this year. Additionally, the Taipei Metro Go App offers versions in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, allowing international visitors to conveniently check ticket information, travel ticket types, route maps, station information, schedules, the last and first train times, and guidelines for bringing bicycles on the metro. Planning trips has become more convenient, welcoming international tourists to enjoy a low-carbon and convenient journey in Taipei.
