Recently, there have been conflicts on public transportation where older passengers accuse younger people of sitting in courtesy seats, leading to calls to abolish these seats. Residents riding the Taipei Metro on the Wenhu Line have noticed announcements promoting courtesy seats. The Taipei Metro responded that this is a trial and currently only available at certain Wenhu Line stations. Starting June 21, there have been courtesy seat announcements on trains of the Wenhu Line.
