During the tunnel completion ceremony of the first phase of the Wanda Line in Taipei on July 4th, 2024, Taipei City Councilor Chiang Wan-an mentioned the challenges faced during the development of this segment, which won the gold award for public engineering excellence. The Wanda Line section spans from Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station to Tucheng Depot, with 9.5 km length, 9 underground stations, 1 depot, and 18 shield tunnels, currently at 74.80% completion. The entire tunnel system for the Taipei area is also connected, marking a significant milestone with an expected completion and opening to the public in 2027. The Wanda Line is designed to showcase the financial and cultural characteristics of the central and Wanhua districts in Taipei, and will greatly improve transportation connectivity in the metropolitan area upon completion.
