A 50-year-old officer surnamed Li of the Datong Station of Taipei City Police Bureau is suspected of leaking personal data of citizens to a criminal syndicate. The Datong Station, along with Taipei City Criminal Investigation Division, Taipei City Police Bureau Inspector's Office, and Police Department Inspector's Office, formed a special task force to investigate. Today, Li was taken to the Taipei City Criminal Investigation Division for questioning, and they also plan to apprehend the involved operators simultaneously. The Datong Station stressed that this case is a 'self-cleansing and self-inspection' initiative after reports of abnormal relationships between Officer Li and illegal businesses in his jurisdiction emerged. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the details of the officer's involvement and they will continue to cooperate with the prosecutor's investigation.
