Taipei Police Officers Conceal Records during Clash with Black-Clad Individuals, 4 Officers Admit Guilt, Receive Deferred Prosecution and Fined NT$140,000

During the 'Songshan Incident' in Taipei, the Control Yuan impeached the then chief of the Songshan Police Substation and three other officers for failing to properly record the disturbance caused by black-clad individuals in the duty log. Four officers, including a vice chief and police officers on duty that day, admitted to not accurately documenting the event and were investigated for misconduct. Taipei District Prosecutors granted the officers one year of deferred prosecution and fined each of them between NT$30,000 to NT$50,000. The incident involved a confrontation where individuals smashed property within the police station after a dispute with an intoxicated police officer.
