After nearly a century, Taipei City's First Funeral Parlor, known as the 'largest controversial facility in Taipei,' will officially begin demolition on June 13th. The site, occupying about 6,000 pings of land, is sparking debate among local leaders and legislators over its future development plans. While some suggest building mixed-use commercial offices, others oppose the idea citing existing vacant commercial spaces nearby, putting the city government's communication skills and decision-making abilities to the test.
