Taipei's Private St. Joseph's School Ends Nearly 60-Year History by Bidding Farewell to Last Graduating Class Due to Declining Birthrates

Reported 7 months ago

Taipei's private St. Joseph's School, established nearly 60 years ago, held its last graduation ceremony with a total of 102 students from junior and senior high school. Impacted by declining birthrates, the school stopped accepting new students starting from the 111th academic year (2023) and is awaiting approval from the Ministry of Education to officially close. After bidding farewell to the last graduating class, the school plans to hold an 'alumni homecoming' event before permanently closing. The school principal mentioned the achievements of the students, with the majority of the senior high school students being accepted into top universities like NTU, NCKU, and NTNU.
