Taipei Tenant Kills Landlord in Dispute, Flees to Hsinchu and Surrenders by Phone, Captured on Camera

A 68-year-old man, Chen, fatally stabbed his 78-year-old landlord, Yan, over a rent dispute in Taipei's Wanhua District. Chen fled to Hsinchu by train and surrendered at a convenience store, where he was arrested by the police. Surveillance footage captured Chen's surrender. The incident occurred during a negotiation meeting that escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in Yan's death. Chen is now in custody and declined evening questioning.
