A fire broke out in the dormitory of Taipei Veterans General Hospital on Xitun Road in Xitun District, Taichung City, with flames and thick smoke spreading on the evening of June 30, 2024. The Taichung City Fire Department dispatched 8 fire trucks and 20 personnel to the scene for rescue. The fire on the 4th floor, suspected to have been caused by electrical wiring, was extinguished without casualties. Further investigations are ongoing.
