Taipei Zhongshan Shopping District Faces Closure as Hundreds of Stores Reportedly Cited by Same Person

Reported about 1 year ago

In recent years, Taipei's trendy area and popular hangout spot for young people, the Zhongshan Shopping District, has faced a threat of closure with reports of over a hundred stores being cited for violations. The city government has demanded improvements within a two-month period, or else businesses could face closure or demolition. A social media post pointed out that over 60 stores were reportedly cited by a single individual, leading to numerous establishments, including restaurants, hair salons, clothing shops, and groceries, receiving notices. The situation has sparked concerns that this once thriving district may soon face a fate similar to other commercial areas in Taipei.
