Taipei Zoo announced the unfortunate news that 'Hideo', a Malayan Tapir from Japan who was supposed to participate in an exchange program in Taiwan, arrived with no signs of life, deeply saddening both Taiwanese and Japanese parties. Efforts will be made to determine the cause of death through pathological autopsy and review of the animal transportation process, with updates on the investigation to be provided.
