The Cross-Strait Forum is scheduled to take place with Zhang Lishan set to attend, but Taiwan Affairs Office head Qiu Chuizheng expressed reluctance towards local government participation, urging attention to cross-strait norms, social impressions, and international perceptions. Zhang responded, expressing disappointment in the change in tune after her attendance was approved, emphasizing the need to be optimistic. She argued that the forum should be seen as a routine activity for dialogue and mutual understanding rather than being excessively interpreted. Zhang also hoped that her participation could lead to opportunities for exporting agricultural products like milkfish, pineapples, mangoes, sugar apples, pomelos, and ponkans.
