During a press conference held by the Taiwan People's Party legislative caucus, Legislator Huang Kuo-chang raised concerns about a supposed shortage of 6 million eggs in Japan's egg imports by the Agriculture Ministry last year. The ministry clarified that the discrepancy was due to a calculation error on the legislator's part, as different calculations based on different box specifications resulted in the same total weight and number of eggs indicated in the data provided by the ministry. The ministry explained the procurement process and emphasized that there was no shortage of eggs, urging the public not to misunderstand the situation.
