Amid tensions between China and the US leading to a semiconductor war, Malaysia has become a new favorite for big players like Intel, GlobalFoundries, and Infineon, setting up factories or expanding operations in the country due to its established infrastructure and expertise in downstream processes like assembly, testing, and packaging. Companies like Intel have announced investments in Malaysia, and according to experts, Malaysia's skilled labor force in packaging, assembly, and testing, along with relatively lower operational costs, make its exported products globally competitive.
