Taiwan Convenience Store Expansion: Uni President Chairman - No Ceiling for Taiwan Convenience Stores

Reported 9 months ago

Convenience stores are omnipresent in Taiwan, with Uni-President (7-ELEVEN) opening over a hundred stores almost every month. Uni-President Group Chairman, Luo Jhixian, stated that the aggressive expansion is driven by social demand, with no ceiling in sight for convenience stores in Taiwan. Luo mentioned that the goal is not just to reach 7,000 stores, but to meet societal needs, indicating ample expansion space in the market. With channels totaling 12,000 both locally and abroad, Luo noted different growth stages in various regions like Shanghai and Zhejiang post-pandemic. As for the Philippines, expansion opportunities are significant and service-oriented compared to Taiwan's product-centric approach, showing promising prospects for the future. Reflecting on his 20-year tenure, Luo humbly expressed the perpetual need for improvement to avoid complacency, attributing his success to legacy assets and a strong team amid unprecedented market opportunities in Asia during a generational shift.
