Starting from 2015, Taiwan Cooperative Bank has been actively practicing corporate social responsibility by donating recycled computers to schools and family support centers in remote areas. The initiative aims to help disadvantaged groups improve their digital skills, reduce the urban-rural digital gap, and achieve sustainable resource reuse. By meticulously preparing and testing each donated computer, the bank ensures their effectiveness and stability for long-term use, contributing to environmental sustainability. As of June 2024, the bank has donated a total of 364 recycled computers, reducing approximately 167.44 metric tons of carbon emissions. Through these donations, Taiwan Cooperative Bank not only provides needed hardware support to underprivileged families but also helps children access equal education and multi-faceted development opportunities, ultimately promoting environmental sustainability and narrowing the digital divide between urban and rural areas.
