Following the promotion of the Legislative Powers Act by the KMT and PFP, sparking protests from civic groups under the 'Bluebird Movement,' the DPP intends to continue this momentum with a nationwide 'Anti-Abuse of Power, Defend Democracy' campaign from June 14 to 16 in Hualien, New Taipei, and Taipei. DPP Chairman Lai Ching-te is expected to issue a mobilization order today (12th) to urge opposition parties to reconsider. The DPP has instructed local party headquarters to hold at least one 'Anti-Abuse of Power, Defend Democracy' briefing session, encouraging party members, county/city councilors, and village chiefs to organize such events and street campaigns. The campaign focuses on defending democratic values and deepening democracy to prevent unjust legislation by the KMT and PFP from passing, asserting the importance of public awareness on parliamentary matters for the general populace's understanding and safeguarding of their rights.
