The Taiwan Institute of Economic Research released a forecast survey showing that in May, the manufacturing, service, and construction industries continued to improve for the sixth, third, and second consecutive months respectively. While the manufacturing sector's business climate index reached its highest in 25 months at 99.73 points, the director of the institute's economic forecasting center warns that the industry is still 'climbing uphill,' facing challenges in the coming months. The service industry remains robust, and the construction industry is in a strong position. However, concerns about inflation and fluctuations in international oil and shipping prices may impact the outlook for the future.
