The leading company in Taiwan's food and beverage industry, the Jeidar Group, unexpectedly closed down its 7 brands, including Pepper Lunch. This closure came after its parent company, the Five Mutual Group, was exposed for illegal fundraising of 22 billion NTD, leading to the collapse of the subsidiary Jeidar International Food and Beverage Group. This closure left 500 employees jobless, prompting them to sue for compensation. The court has now ruled that the group must compensate 218 employees, with amounts ranging from thousands to tens of thousands of NTD per person, reaching up to over 780,000 NTD, with the possibility of appeal.
