On June 12, 2024, at 7:10 am, Zou Zi-Lian, the Director of the OSHA, led the South District Center to conduct labor inspections, emphasizing the importance of enforcing safety and health management in construction sites. Following a series of occupational accidents, particularly fatal falls accounting for nearly 70% in the construction industry, inspections revealed several safety violations at the new building project near the Tainan Shalun High-Speed Rail Special Zone. A collective fine of NT$580,000 was imposed for non-compliance with safety regulations. Director Zou emphasized the need for strict safety measures and prevention in construction, targeting fall-related dangers with increased inspections, penalties, and work stoppages.
