Reported about 1 year ago

In order to ensure the safety and consumer rights of travelers, the Taitung County Government conducted a joint inspection of accommodation providers in Taitung city area and South-Link Highway from January to June this year. Out of 66 establishments inspected, 7 did not display room information and 21 had various deficiencies such as non-compliance with building safety regulations, missing first aid kits, lack of health inspection reports, and failure to maintain drinking water cleanliness records. The authorities have requested these issues to be rectified within a set timeframe, with the remaining 38 establishments meeting the requirements. The government emphasized the importance of periodic joint inspections and announced plans for regular and unscheduled inspections to ensure a safe lodging environment, as well as publicizing a list of illegal accommodations on the Taitung Tourism website.
