To prevent workers from being exposed to asbestos and crystalline silica in artificial stone dust, Taiwan's labor ministry has implemented a two-year plan to subsidize the purchase of protective equipment and clothing or the rental of related equipment for small and medium enterprises starting from June 18, 2023, until October 31, 2025. The subsidy amount is capped at NT$150,000 per case. The ministry warns of the long latency period of asbestos-related diseases and the dangers of inhaling crystalline silica in artificial stone, providing help for disposal costs of asbestos waste and emphasizing the importance of safety measures for workers exposed to hazardous dust.
