In order to promote the traditional arts at prisons, Beijian Prison in Taipei held a workshop on lantern making as part of the 2025 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taoyuan. The workshop aimed to teach inmates essential skills and inspire creativity, with the involvement of the Chinese Lantern Art Association. Inmates were guided through the entire lantern making process, from planning and design to final production, in hopes that their creations will shine at the upcoming national lantern competition. The initiative also serves as a means of rehabilitation and showcases the positive impact of art and education in correctional facilities.
