Taiwan Legislators' Controversy Over Dinner Invitation

Reported 12 months ago

On July 3, 2024, eight legislators, including Kuomintang's Hsu Chiao-hsin, held a promotional event at Shilin MRT Station in Taipei, where local legislator Wu Ssu-yao suggested they try food at four different restaurants. Hsu's team ordered 30 dishes from three of the restaurants without informing the owners, which led to accusations of fraud. Wu criticized Hsu for secretly recording conversations and advised her to settle the matter directly. The incident occurred during a public outreach event by the opposition party legislators.
