From blue and white to dark green with red cross paint, the Air Force rescue team, also known as the 'seagull unit,' has been praised by civilians as compassionate angels who respond to typhoons and other natural disasters, as well as emergency situations like mountain or maritime accidents. Established in 1950 and evolving through various stages, the team now primarily operates helicopters for search and rescue missions, equipped with night search capabilities and medical evacuation capabilities. Celebrating their 70th anniversary on July 1, the team continues to fly and protect military personnel and all Taiwanese citizens.
