The Taiwan Ministry of Finance has announced three new measures to crack down on speculation and manipulation in the housing market through the 'New Youth Housing Loan' program. The ministry will intensify reviews and inspections, as well as require individuals to sign pledges against speculation. Eight major banks were summoned to discuss and refine the regulations, focusing on addressing issues like fake applicants, loans for rental purposes, and the signing of pledges for primary residence. The ministry emphasized that these measures are aimed at assisting first-time homebuyers and will not impact genuine borrowers.
