Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare has revealed the top ten causes of death among Taiwanese citizens for last year, with a total of 205,575 deaths recorded. Cancer remains the leading cause of death for the 42nd consecutive year, while COVID-19 claimed nearly 9,000 lives but dropped in ranking from 3rd to 6th place compared to 2022. The top three causes of death are malignant tumors (cancer), heart disease, and pneumonia.
