Minister of Digital Development Huang Yen-nan stated today that regarding Taiwan Mobile's failure to return excessive spectrum, a decision will be made after discussing with the NCC. The NCC approved the 'TaiTai Merger' last year with conditions that Taiwan Mobile needed to rectify the issue of exceeding 10MHz spectrum in the sub-1GHz band by the end of June 2024. Taiwan Mobile has not yet submitted an application to return the spectrum. NCC authorities have inspected Taiwan Mobile's network management center and frequencies across Taiwan and indicated the possibility of fines ranging from 500,000 to 5 million yuan for illegal frequency emission. Taiwan Mobile argues that the spectrum repayment violates administrative procedures and has filed an administrative lawsuit against the NCC.
