On June 26, 2024, at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Seoul International Book Fair, it was announced that Taiwan will be the theme country for the 2025 fair, marking the first time Taiwan has been invited to be the theme country for the event. The event is seen as a significant opportunity for Taiwan's publishing industry to expand into the Korean book market. To facilitate this, the Taiwan Pavilion at the fair showcased 336 Taiwanese publications from 48 publishers, aiming to strengthen business connections and explore new market opportunities.
