On June 27, 2024, Taiwan's Neuvolight, the world's first silicon photonic sensor chip design company based on Si-CMOS process, announced the successful completion of a new round of fundraising. The fundraising received investments from well-known companies like Far EasTone Telecommunications, Sunvalley Group, and Nationstar Stem Cells, demonstrating market recognition of Taiwan Neuvolight's technological capabilities. With the raised funds, the company's capital will increase from NT$260 million to nearly NT$500 million, to be used for product development and market expansion. Neuvolight's chairman, Chang Kun-yu, expressed that the partnerships with companies like Far EasTone Telecommunications will drive Taiwan's technological innovation and industrial advancement, leading the country into a new era of technology and unlimited possibilities. Neuvolight's Si-CMOS process has developed highly integrated, efficient silicon photonic sensor chips with applications in various sectors like AI, 5G, and IoT, showcasing strong competitiveness. This successful fundraising will accelerate Neuvolight's technology development, market expansion, and international presence. Chairman Chang further indicated that their products, integrating multiple functions on a single chip and utilizing the Si-CMOS process, offer cost advantages and price competitiveness, enabling breakthrough developments in 5G, AI, IoT, and smart city technologies in the future.
