In response to the growing attention to the issue of migrant workers, Taiwan's Minister of Labor, Hsu Puyshann, revealed during questioning at the Legislative Yuan that the plan to introduce Indian migrant workers will focus on the manufacturing sector, with a small-scale trial initially not exceeding 1,000 people. The process will involve both direct recruitment and intermediary channels, with no set timeline but expected to take about a year before implementation. The MOU between Taiwan and India for labor cooperation was scrutinized by committees, addressing concerns over the number and industry of Indian workers to be admitted, as well as subsequent operational arrangements.
