On the morning of July 8th, Lin Shijie, father of Tainan City Councilor Lin Yiting, was tragically shot at close range by a gunman who continued firing even after Lin Shijie fell to the ground. Surveillance footage revealed the ruthless act where the victim was shot in the face, neck, and chest. Despite being rushed to Chi Mei Hospital for treatment, Lin Shijie succumbed to his injuries. The shooter fled the scene, but investigations are ongoing to identify accomplices and establish the motive behind this heinous crime.
