Taiwan Power Company's spokesperson Tsai Chih-meng stated in an interview before the shareholders' meeting that the company is expected to break even this year. Factors contributing to this goal include the April 1 electricity price hike which could increase revenue by over 600 billion NTD, a potential additional budget allocation of 1 trillion NTD from the Legislative Yuan, and cost savings of over 50 billion NTD due to a decline in fuel costs. With these conditions, Taiwan Power Company aims to achieve financial equilibrium this year and halt its streak of losses over the past two years.
