Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) will launch a trial program from July to November to encourage residential and small shop owners to save electricity. Participants need to install Taipower's smart meters and use stable internet-connected smart home appliances. By saving at least 2 kWh per month, participants can receive a minimum rebate of 48 NT dollars. Taipower plans to expand the demand response program to include residential and small shop participation. The program aims to save 640,000 kWh over five months, costing approximately 21 million NT dollars. In collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taipower hopes to promote electricity conservation by adjusting appliance usage habits and providing electricity bill discounts for users who cooperate with the program.
