Taiwan Power Corporation's Nearly 2 Trillion Losses with 4.4 Months Year-End Bonus

Reported 8 months ago

Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs recently announced performance reviews for 4 state-owned enterprises, including Taiwan Power Corporation, with all 4 companies ranked as Grade A, estimating a 4.4-month year-end bonus. Despite Taiwan Power Corporation's nearly 2 trillion losses and CPC Corporation's 18 billion losses last year, the Ministry emphasizes that the bonus is based on performance metrics, not on the company's financial losses. The losses were attributed to a six-fold increase in material costs, and the government's efforts to support the public without reflecting all the costs fully. The Ministry affirms that the evaluation process is stringent and praises employees' excellent performance.
