Taiwan Power Plant Sudden Shutdown Raises Concerns

FTNN news reported that the Heping Power Plant in Hualien suddenly stopped operating last night, causing concerns among the public about possible power outages on a hot summer night. Taiwan Power Company explained that the private Heping Power Plant experienced a line trip due to lightning strikes around 6 pm yesterday, temporarily halting its operation. The power supply has since been restored, with plans for improvements to prevent similar incidents in the future. Despite the incident, Taiwan's power reserve capacity remained above 10% during peak hours last night.
