Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen recently assumed office, leading to adjustments in the military leadership. It is likely that another female officer will be promoted to the rank of general, setting a new record for female military leaders in the country. Colonel Chu Hui-fang, currently serving as the head of the Psychological Warfare Division of the Army Command, is expected to be promoted to the position of Political Warfare Director of the Matsu Defense Command and promoted to the rank of general. If successful, Colonel Chu Hui-fang will become the first female officer to be promoted under President Tsai's leadership, making her Taiwan's 12th female general and bringing the total number of active female military leaders to five, a historic high in the country's military history.
