Transportation Minister Li Meng-Yan stated in a media interview today that Taiwan Rail ticket prices have not been adjusted for 29 years. He mentioned that various options are being considered by Taiwan Rail, with the Ministry of Transportation weighing in on the overall environment and costs, selecting options that will contribute to the sustainable operation and quality improvement of Taiwan Rail. Minister Li Meng-Yan emphasized the importance of adjusting prices moderately and highlighted the need to enhance the efficiency and safety of the rail system through new technologies, in addition to addressing recent controversies surrounding designated seating policies in public transportation.
