Taiwan Railway 7 Employees Found Guilty of Profiting from Falsified Rail Project Inspection

Qing Yao Construction, contracted for a rail project on Taiwan Railway's Taitung Line, was discovered by the Anti-Corruption Agency to have not met the required rail length but still claimed full payment. Seven Taiwan Railway employees were found guilty of benefiting the contractor, with sentences ranging from 5 months of probation to 3 years and 4 months in prison. The High Court affirmed the guilt of 5 individuals while reducing their sentences. The case involved falsifying inspection records and claiming payments for incomplete work.
