Taiwan Railway Conductor Suffers Fractured Bones, Expected to Rest for 2 Months

A Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) conductor, Chen Junliang, suffered a hand bone fracture during a recent incident where a landslide caused the train to derail. Initial investigations by the TRA union confirmed that the conductor was not speeding at the time of the accident. Chen, who has been a conductor for 6 years, underwent surgery and is expected to require 1 to 2 months of rest. The TRA will provide a condolence payment, cover medical expenses, and temporarily assign him administrative duties while he recovers.
