During a recent thunderstorm, falling rocks due to a landslide hit the Taiwan Railway's Clear Water Tunnel, causing the new EMU3000 model Taroko Express train to derail. The incident resulted in injuries to the driver, with a broken arm, and 6 other passengers sustaining minor injuries. Coincidentally, the derailment location was just 100 meters away from the site of the Taroko Express accident that occurred three years ago.
